Are you seeking to update or adopt your program’s resale formula or affordable pricing methodology? Are you trying to understand why units in your portfolio are losing (or gaining) affordability at resale? Do you want to improve your understanding of your resale formula in order to communicate more clearly with homeowners, partners or other stakeholders? Register for this course to learn about affordable pricing methodologies and resale formula options, which work hand-in-hand to ensure that shared equity homes are truly affordable for generations! This course will offer hands-on exercises to help participants understand the importance of a thoughtful affordable pricing policy and the pros and cons of common resale formula types.

This intermediate level course is best for individuals who are implementing or actively designing a shared equity homeownership program. A basic understanding of subsidy retention (or shared equity homeownership) is essential for success in this course.

After taking this course, you should expect to be able to identify key considerations for setting an initial affordable price; identify the pros and cons of the three main resale formula types; and, articulate the basic steps for modeling and selecting a resale formula based on your program’s goals.
