How do you set up homeowners for success from the start? How do you support homeowners in accessing safe, quality mortgages? What’s the best way for your program to build up a pipeline of qualified buyers? Register for this course to learn about policies and procedures to improve the way you relate to your homeowners pre-purchase! This course will focus on key policies and procedures related to homebuyer education, program marketing, applicant selection, program eligibility review, the marketing-to-closing pipeline, and permitted mortgages. We will include a focus on racially equitable outcomes for Black homeowners and other marginalized households of color.
This intermediate level course is best for individuals who are implementing or actively designing a shared equity homeownership program. A basic understanding of subsidy retention (or shared equity homeownership) is essential for success in this course.
After taking this course, you should expect to be able to identify key considerations for establishing policies and procedures that impact shared equity homeowners prior to purchase, including permitted mortgages, affirmative marketing, managing homebuyer interest, applicant selection, program eligibility, legal document review, and the overall marketing-to-closing process.
