Introducing: New Grounded Solutions Network Board Members Dr. Ben L. Bynum, Dr. Germaine Smith-Baugh
As federal moratoriums expire, with pandemic-and-protest-related impacts to families, neighborhoods and communities across the nation continuing to evolve, so too must tangible actions to ensure housing stability for the already-vulnerable renters and homeowners of color.
In support of these ambitious goals, the Grounded Solutions Network Board of Directors is pleased to present Dr. Ben L. Bynum of the Colorado Health Foundation and Dr. Germaine Smith-Baugh of the Urban League of Broward (FL) County as the newest members of the board – congratulations!
Now more than ever, secure housing is and critical to address the social determinants of health. With communities of color most affected by structural health and housing disparities, Dr. Bynum brings essential levels of experience, input and empathy to advance Grounded Solutions’ mission.
Additionally, countless studies highlight the struggle Black-and-Brown-led organizations face in navigating fundraising challenges and philanthropic racial bias. Dr. Smith-Baugh has helped mine and create new solutions that help address racial equity and change the narrative related to social impact funding.
Grounded Solutions remains dedicated to recruiting active leaders and board members who match our sense of urgency on behalf of the communities we all serve. We are confident in the skills, experience and perspectives both Dr. Bynum and Dr. Smith-Baugh will provide in service to our mission.
