When creating or updating a shared equity program or organization, one of the biggest decisions to make is how to capture your mission and program goals in the right legal documents, such as a ground lease or deed restriction. “Which legal document is the best fit for the kinds of real estate we’re developing?” “What parts of the legal document can I customize for my program?” “What makes the most sense for my state?” These are the kinds of questions that we know many in the field grapple with as they design their program.
These AMA “office hours” provide a free-to-the-public forum for participants to speak with industry experts and peers about hot topics in the field of lasting affordable housing. For this session, Grounded Solutions staff member Jason Webb, who helped develop our template legal documents, will be available to answer your questions. Additional expert participants may be added ahead of the planned session.
NOTE: This session will focus on programmatic decisions and considerations and is not meant to be actual legal advice. Grounded Solutions always recommends working with a local attorney to finalize any core legal documents for your program
