Topic: Special Purpose Credit Programs
Description: Special purpose credit programs (SPCPs) are a way to provide credit assistance to targeted populations without violating fair housing laws. Some shared equity homeownership programs have created SPCPs that provide down payment assistance to homebuyers who have historically been excluded from homeownership, such as buyers who are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC). Join us at our May Network Call to discuss SPCPs with Champlain Housing Trust, who developed a SPCP as way to address the racial homeownership gap in its community.
This is an informal, conversation-based meeting intended to create space for members to connect with one another, so please come prepared with questions about SPCPs you’d like to discuss with your peers.
