[FREE] Introduction to Permanently Affordable Homeownership

Sarah Duval is the Associate Director of Operations at Hello Housing, an organization that creates housing solutions that strengthen underserved communities in and around Oakland, California. Sarah started her career in non-profit housing in 2007 at a residential SRO hotel in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. Initially focused on supportive services, she transitioned to affordable housing property management and development with BRIDGE Housing in 2012. While at BRIDGE she supported the Senior Leadership Team in maintaining financial and program compliance, which led her to Eden Housing in 2014. At Eden, she took on a more elevated role as Compliance Manager, co-managing the organization’s compliance team. In 2016, her background in affordable housing brought her to Hello Housing as a Program Manager for Hello Stewardship. In addition to working in non-profit affordable housing, her passion for social justice has led her to several outside projects along the way, which have included collaborating on the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California’s miACLU campaign, where she worked toward appealing anti-immigrant laws at the state level, as well as serving on the board of a local bay area women’s networking organization, Good Ol’ Girls. Sarah hails from Sacramento, CA and attended the University of California at Santa Cruz, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

Lidia Vieyra is a Program Manager at Hello Housing, an organization that creates housing solutions that strengthen underserved communities in and around Oakland, California. Originally from San Diego, Lidia moved to the bay area for her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Berkeley and quickly fell in love with the microclimates taking advantage of the year around hiking opportunities. After graduation, Lidia spent the last 4.5 years working with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco, first as an AmeriCorps Vista outreach coordinator for their financial literacy program and later being hired as a full-time staff member leading the Post-purchase program and then promoted to Homeowner Services Manager becoming a Qualified Loan Originator; where she oversaw the entire homeownership process from marketing to closing. Lidia has a passion for helping others and the non-profit sector, she is skilled in research, event planning, fundraising, and program development.

Drawing on over 25 years’ experience in and community organizing and revitalization, specializing in housing in Roxbury Massachusetts, Jason oversees our membership strategy and capacity building of start-up groups. Before coming to Grounded Solutions,’ Jason worked 15 years for Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI) and Network Member Dudley Neighbors Inc. (DNI), serving in several capacities such as Director of Real Estate and Technology, Director of DNI “The Community Land Trust,” and Director of Administration and Finance. He oversaw the development of several community land trust developments and created a youth development/youth jobs program called CommunityScapes.

As the Management Analyst with the Economic Development and Housing Division with the City of South San Francisco, Deanna provides oversight for the City’s affordable housing portfolio and reviews and updates policies and procedures related to the implementation of inclusionary housing ordinances. Deanna will be presenting during Part 2 on February 13th.

As State and Local Policy Manager at Grounded Solutions Network, Stephanie Reyes brings over 10 years of experience in policy research, program design and advocacy in the housing and environmental fields. Stephanie will be presenting during Part 2 on February 13th.
