National Policy Advocacy
Our goal is to change systems on a national scale to promote racial and economic justice by expanding opportunities for homes with lasting affordability.
Our National Policy Advocacy team
Our National Policy team actively engages with emerging and perennial policy issues impacting our membership and the field at large. We do this in collaboration with our member organizations, elected representatives, national partner organizations, and various coalitions.
Grounded Solutions has three overarching objectives that drive our national policy work:
Supporting federal programs that enable the creation and preservation of housing with lasting affordability.
We work directly and in collaboration with aligned organizations to build strategic partnerships, coordinate and align advocacy campaigns, and conduct outreach to policymakers to create new programs and improve existing ones.
Increased access to stable financing for housing with lasting affordability.
We work to expand financing opportunities for homebuyers, our member organizations, and the field at large by raising the profile of shared equity homeownership throughout the regulatory system.
Educated stakeholders.
We proactively engage with policymakers, regulators, practitioners, and everyone in between to ensure the Administration, Congress, and their constituents understand how federal policy can help (or hinder) lasting affordability.
As part of this work, we provide a set of resources available to anyone interested in learning about how federal policy can support our work and how residents and practitioners can engage in the policymaking process.

Advancing racial and economic equity
Advancing racial and economic equity is at the core of the work we do. We believe that a more equitable society is inextricably linked to more equitable housing policy. Federal housing policy has historically contributed to significant racial disparities in wealth and housing opportunity. We are committed to fostering a federal policy environment that actively reverses those disparities.
